Ozimals

What is an Ozimal?
Ozimal refers to Ozimals™, a company that creates 3D pets on Second Life™ . Their first creation are Ozimal Bunnies – a bunny pet made to interact, eat, sleep, grow and even breed with one another.

How do they interact?
Their interaction is limited. The artificial intelligence the bunnies were created with allows them to “talk” in response to different menu-driven commands – such as change in home placement, mobility settings or even by waking them up from their peaceful slumber.

Additionally, you are able to take the bunnies into your inventory, hold and even pet them using menu-driven animations installed in their little bodies.

What do you mean.. sleep?
Ozimal bunnies actually close their eyes, lay down and even produce dream clouds above their heads (which you turn off using the configuration menu if you prefer to not see the clouds). They typically sleep eight hours a day and need to rest in order to be happy, healthy little bunnies!

The bunnies can be woken up using their individual menus but when they tire, will eventually fall back asleep.

I have to feed these things!?
Oh yes… bunnies need to eat! There are a variety of food types that can be purchased from the main Ozimals store. Each food provides for a different experience – some are for statistics boosts, breeding, etc.

They breed? Like.. have sex!?
Yes! The main concept of Ozimals Bunnies is breeding! And don’t worry, they like to keep it very G-Rated. Bunnies don’t do anything “physical” and they don’t even have to be touching in order to make a baby bunny!

Sounds like those chicken things…
Kind of… but not really. The Ozimals community is very lucky to have an amazing staff dedicated to make the best breedable pets possible. This includes learning from the mistakes of “past” breedables. Let’s just say that Ozimals are better than other breedable pets in a lot of ways. *wink*

They sound laggy…
They can be… if you have 200 bunnies jumping around in a skybox. Fortunately for us, the Ozimals team has done an amazing job scripting these bunnies and the lag is minimal at most. Most of the lag caused by the bunnies is from them colliding with other prims – or each other. This can be avoided by using the configuration settings and telling the bunnies not to move. They get a bad reputation thanks to high scripted, laggy breedable pets of the past. Read about Understanding Lag.
