The Ozimals team kicked off the 2nd Oziversary celebration today off with a Wizard of Oz themed party that ran from 6-8pm SL. If you missed it, don’t worry! There’s plenty of time to enjoy some festivities. The Over the Rainbow Hunt starts on Friday November 12th at 1pm! The Oziversary celebration will end on November 21st.
But tonight, there was the first party which included a costume contest in which first place went to yours truly. The winners are labeled in the picture below!

Dear Friends of Oz,
Greetings and salutations! I hope this letter finds you warmly well. The seasons are changing once again on Oz as we welcome Autumn to our Emerald lands, and with the arrival of the falling leaves we also have exciting news. Magic of Oz is two years old!
Starting Thursday, November 11 from 6-8 pm SLT, we will be having a kick off Magic of Oz Costume Party to start our Oziversary celebrations! Come dressed as your favorite Oz character and maybe you will be walking home with a prize from one of the many outstanding creators who help make the Magic of Oz and Ozimals the special places they are to visit and shop.
The Costume Party on Thursday night is meant to whet your appetite for the Over the Rainbow Hunt that starts at 1pm SLT on Friday, November 12! There is nothing else in Second Life that can quite compare to the flair and excitement that is encapsulated in a Magic of Oz hunt. With prizes from 19 merchants across two sims, this hunt promises to be a must do event! For the Over the Rainbow Hunt you will be collecting Magic Pearls as they rez across the Magic of Oz and Ozimals sims in order to procure bluebirds that will allow you to gain gifts from the rainbows located in each participating store.
Once you have finished the Over the Rainbow Hunt and thoroughly explored both sims in search of hidden Magic Pearls you will be in the perfect frame of mind to enter the 2nd Oziversary: Oz Revisited Photo Contest where you have the chance to show us Oz through your eyes. What favorite memories do you have of Oz during the past two years? Take a picture and share your stories with us. Both the Over the Rainbow Hunt and the 2nd Oziversary: Oz Revisited Photo Contest will run from November 12 – November 21. More details for both will be available on the Magic of Oz blog (http://slmagicofoz.blogspot.com/) as well as in information kiosks around the Magic of Oz and Ozimals sims.
To finish out the week of festivities we will be having not one, but two fancy dress balls, so no matter where you are in the world, you will hopefully be able to join us in celebrating another year of Magic of Oz in Second Life. On Saturday, November 20 from 5-7 pm SLT and on Sunday, November 21 from 11-1 pm SLT, we will be dancing up a storm to the musical stylings of DJ Sierra Sugar as we dream of the adventures we will have in Oz during the next year! Come and join us and be part of the celebrations! They won’t be the same without you!
